Is there a potential problem behind every HYBRID car?

There's so much hype about this vehicles its amazing. Don't get me wrong I'm for the environment, but car companies making this vehicles have a major task and that is to make them safer...what? Yes, safer for the people driving them.I read an article sometime ago talking about concerns of what would happen in a major car accident involving a hybrid vehicle. The article talks about potential electrocution not only on occupants

but imagine that a person or even emergency personnel is trying to assist you, they might run a chance of getting themselves in a bad situation. Car companies are reacting fast to these concerns by saying that this cars are 100% safe and there's no chance in a scenario like this for potential electrocution happening at all. Another situation is the cost of maintenance on this cars. For example; Batteries on this vehicles are expensive costing between $5,000 & $8,000 dollars and the life of these batteries are about 6 to 8 years. So what's going to happen when you have your $27,000 Toyota Prius paid off after 5 years and all of the sudden you need to replace the battery on it . The problem is that your $27,000 Prius depreciated a lot during the past years and now its probably worth maybe $8,000 dollars and you have to come up with 6 or 8 grand to buy a battery pronto. Now what happen with all that MONEY you save at the gas pump all these years? You ended up spending it on your car again buying the battery your car need and the fact that your car its worth less MONEY than the battery your buying for it makes the argument of putting MONEY in your pocket by buying less gas worthless .We know now that the more these cars sell the prices on the batteries would go down ,but my real opinion on this cars is that to me they are just a statement to the people who drive them saying... look at me I'm more environmentally friendly than you ,GO GREEN OR DIE MEAN just look at the Hollywood people driving this things all over the road on BEVERLY HILLS BLVD they are saying to the masses to be friendly to the environment but when they are filming a movie or traveling on a trip they jump on big planes burning all that jet fuel into the atmosphere...So what's the point? You be the judge. For now I just hope they can lower the price on this batteries as they continue to sell more of this vehicles because with gas prices going up everyday and the situation in the middle east going worse by the minute we all might consider a hybrid car in the near future too.

THE STANG PROVES SUCCESS FOR FORD MOTOR CO.

Selling more than 150,000 mustangs in the year of introduction the 2005 Ford mustang has been proven to be a great seller from FORD and it makes a lot of sense. You won't find a car with 300HP / 300 LB of torque and 0 to 60MPH time of 5.2 seconds for under $24,000 anywhere. Part of making this car so affordable is to cut on costs of production elements on the overall design of the car. For example the mustang shares the same platform with the slow selling and discontinued Lincoln LS and uses a rear live axle a la old school instead of using a fully independent rear suspension and of course the fit and finish looks...well in my opinion kind of cheap but still it looks a lot better than the previous models ,but wait GM and DAIMLER-CHRYSLER want a big share of those annual sales and they are making plans to crash the party at Ford with major announcements of future competitors nameplates to go head to head with the STANG like the DODGE CHALLENGER rumored to have a HEMI as power plant and a CHEVY CAMARO rumored to be equipped with a 6.0 liter V8 with at least 400HP to keep Chevy guys happy. It sounds like its the 1960's all over again .

Some articles on magazines are saying that it will be supercharged using a 6.2 V8 with approx 650 horsepower under that carbon fiber hood. It will possibly weight a lot less than the already amazing ZO6 that is if they used more carbon fiber and other lightweight components around this car. Just now on the NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW in Detroit Daimler - Chrysler announced 600 horsepower on the new DodgeViper srt/10 coupe along with other modifications on the body and interior , so I guess the battle for big horsepower continues between these two modern premier American sport cars . Lets see if GM makes this one into production. The price? Well around $100,000 which I think is reasonable. You find a sport car with the capacity to make 600 plus HP and the acceleration of 3.4 seconds from 0 to 60 MPH to be expected on this car for 100 grand in the market... there simply is none. Sport cars now-a-days with this amount of power under the hood cost a lot more than 100 grand which makes this supervette a favorite for car guys everywhere . Watch out Ferrari , Lambo and Porsche the Americans are coming......the Stingray is back in 09'.

Facing a major redesign after 7 years in the market the king of BLING is back with a lot of changes .The new Cadillac Escalade is a major step forward from the previous two models . There's no doubt that this market of luxury SUVs its very lucrative to G.M. keeping in mind that this vehicles are based on a pick-up truck base chassis and according from what I been reading on car magazines they are cheap to produce compare to a car base luxury SUV platform .This new SUV its on the wish list of every pro-athlete,hip-hop artist and of course soccer moms with a serious bank account , pricing on the 07 models are between $55,000 to $69,000 range and it comes in three models base Escalade , Escalade EXT & Escalade ESV all these models come loaded with every imaginable option offered in today's luxury SUV segment like onstar emergency system , navigation , bose surround stereo system , rear air suspension , HID lights and to bling itself out of the jungles of suburbia 22'' inch wheels all around with low profile tires from factory , but what about performance ... well how about 403 horsepower from the new revised 6.2 liter V8 that's up 58 horses from the old 6.0 liter 345 horsepower and combined with a new 6 speed automatic transmission for better fuel economy plus lots of options that comes with this vehicle ...what more can you ask for?Maybe an electronic tilt steering wheel a la Mercedes Benz E-class and a electronic lift gate a la Infiniti Q56 or perhaps an electronic foot steps whenever you open the doors a la Lincoln Navigator . I still think this new caddy needs more refinement in the handling and fit & finish Dept. But there's no reason to ignore this beauty if you like the combination of luxury , utility and a great name brand like CADILLAC this is the perfect SUV for you.
